Bogdan Ghit

I am a graduate student advised by Dick Epema (Delft University of Technology, NL). My main research topic is on optimizing the performance of data analytics frameworks. Previously, I received a B.Sc. in Computer Science (Politehnica University of Bucharest) and a double-degree M.Sc. in Parallel and Distributed Systems (Vrije University of Amsterdam and Politehnica University of  Bucharest). My research interests include:

  • Design and implementation of distributed systems.
  • Scheduling policies and resource management in datacenters.
  • Performance analysis of computer systems.

  • Here is an article in Dutch on my PhD research.
  • Our work on checkpointing Spark applications has been accepted at HPDC 2017.
  • During the summer of 2016, I was a research intern at IBM Research T.J. Watson NY. My research led to the design of a bid advising technique for data analytics frameworks.
  • I was selected to participate in the 3rd Heidelberg Laureate Forum 2015 where 200 young researchers are granted the opportunity to meet Abel, Fields, and Turing Laureates.
  • Find the complete list of my publications here.
